At dawn, in the sunlit groves of Hammamet, orange blossoms are gently hand-picked. Their petals still cradling the cool breath of the night. This ancestral gesture honors a flower long revered across Mediterranean cultures for its soothing, luminous essence. A flower of purity, sensuality, and rebirth.
Within hours, the blossoms are brought to Hammam Zriba, a historic thermal village nestled at the foot of Mount Zaghouan. There, in a precision extraction atelier, they are transformed using supercritical CO₂ technology. A clean, solvent-free process that preserves the flower’s most subtle and volatile aromatic molecules.
More than a process, it is a gesture of reverence.
More than an ingredient, it is a story suspended in scent. A story of land and hands, of breath and care, of memory made material.
This creation is a living tribute conceived by Hedi Derouiche, physician, co-founder, and technical director of Actifs Précieux (by Apyrion). It is the fruit of a deep alignment between gentle science, botanical memory, and vegetal alchemy. A matter born not only of extraction, but of listening.
Rooted in the land, crafted with precision, and elevated by vision, this CO₂ orange blossom extract carries within it the soul of a place, the ancestral wisdom of the plant, and the presence of the one who translated it.
This , and so much more, is what Hedi Derouiche will be sharing during his Smell Talk on July 4th at Grasse Perfume Week.
From the flower to its memory. From precision to presence. From extraction to the sensitive gesture. And to what matter reveals, when we allow it to speak.
